Imagine this … The crucifixion of Jesus just happened. Then, Jesus raises from the dead after 3 days in a tomb. If you were one of His disciples, can you imagine the roller coaster of emotions you would be going through? You’ve spent the last several years following around this amazing teacher and miracle-worker, and then you witness as He was tortured and crucified on a cross. In the middle of your sorrow and confusion, just days after His crucifixion, Jesus appears to you – ALIVE! Everything you have heard Him teach is starting to become clearer – He really is the Son of God! Then, in the middle of your celebration and joy, just weeks later, Jesus ascends into heaven, leaving you with just a promise. But this was not just any promise – this is a promise that would literally change the world.
This is where we find ourselves at the beginning of the book of Acts. Over the next year or so, we are going to spend the majority of our weekly gathering times, on Sunday mornings during our weekly worship services and during the week in our community groups, studying the book of Acts together. We will take an in-depth look at the beginning of the early church, the power and purpose of the Holy Spirit, the spread of the Gospel, and cover many other fascinating stories and topics. We invite you to join with us on this journey, as we seek to learn and grow through the study and application of God’s Word. We’ll be HERE every Sunday morning at 9am & 10:30am – bring your friends and come along with us as we see how God worked during the time of the early church and recognize ways that same God empowers and equips us today!
