WHAT are CORE GROUPS?

Core Groups consist of 2-4 people of the same gender who meet weekly for the purpose of growing in their relationship with Christ.

WHAT is the PURPOSE of CORE GROUPS?

The purpose of Core Groups is to facilitate an atmosphere at Fellowship of Grace of intentional disciple-making; these groups play a crucial role in the discipleship process within our church as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission together.

HOW LONG will CORE GROUPS meet?

Core group sessions will last for 8-10 weeks at a time, and new groups will be starting several times each year. Some groups of people may stay together for multiple sessions, but the discipleship content will usually be different for each session.

HOW will CORE GROUPS be FORMED?

Each group starts with a disciple builder who will invite a couple of other people to join their group.  Leaders in the church will help people get plugged into groups as well. A disciple builder must have been a participant in a core group at FOG at least once.

WHAT are WE SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT in our CORE GROUPS?

Great question! There will be a variety of topics and studies that core groups will be working through.  There will be a "Foundations" study that everyone will need to go through first that will outline some of the key disciplines and help develop some essential habits for disciples in our church.

WHEN/WHERE should CORE GROUPS MEET?

Anytime and anywhere that is conducive to having a good, honest conversation with friends. Homes, coffee shops, restaurants, parks – it doesn’t matter. Meet for breakfast before work, schedule lunch together during the week, hangout on the weekends – we want these groups to be purposeful, but not feel forced or rigid.
